Turn Off Social Media
Social media is a great way to waste time. The other day, I discovered that I wasted my whole morning and some of my afternoon debating about word definitions. The definition of certain words! At the end of the conversation, the epiphany washed over me about the wastefulness of the time spent. Nothing was learned. Nothing was accomplished. I had no positive piece of productivity to show for my efforts. There's a comic community that I'm a part of that has recently started to boycott social media. I decided to adopt my own version of this.
I deleted all of my social media icons from my home screen. I've stopped notifications, so I access it when I wish. But limit the time allowance with the help of an egg timer.
It is still a viable way to maintain communication and contact, but should be used more of a landline and not doom scrolling.
It has greatly increased my productivity on projects and increased the amount of reading. Get a book that is easily consumable for the morning bathroom routine.
Let me know of any tips that have helped you limit your time on social media!

"Nothing was learned. Nothing was accomplished. I had no positive piece of productivity to show for my efforts"
Dude, that is a spot on summary of social media. Occasional entertainment, but empty nonsense mostly... nothing like what we were promised in terms of being a community-building tool. It's just engagement for the sake of engagement.
These are great things to point out and great tips for cutting back on it. Great post!
